I recently started at Center of Excellence in Diabetes and Endocrinology (CEDE) http://www.sackid.com/  in Sacramento as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. It has been my dream to provide this care since I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1995 and after a long and twisty road I am thrilled to be here. Providing the care to kids and families that I would have wanted.  I have been encouraged to start a blog to reach current and future patients to get to know my families and grow my practice. Those who know me will find this hilarious. I am a technology idiot by choice and stay away from social media. I know there is power there but I find it all a bit artificial and scary. So while it goes against my personal grain, I am going to give this a try, share thoughts and ideas about what diabetes has been for me, how it has impacted my life and how my perspective continues to change as I grow with it.
